We have received a variety of questions regarding monkeypox. Based on what you're seeing in the media, you may be concerned. The good news is—unlike the coronavirus that causes COVID-19—monkeypox is a known virus that has been studied for decades and does not spread easily among people. Although monkeypox can be extremely painful, it is rarely fatal. Most people will recover without the need for investigational treatments. There's a lot you can do to avoid catching monkeypox—and the precautions are very similar to what you've been doing to protect yourself against the virus that causes COVID-19. WELL VISITS FOR KIDS MATTER MORE THAN EVER:
Regular well visits are essential to keeping your kids' immune system in fighting condition. With the summer season on our doorstep, keeping up with your child’s well visits are more important than ever. Do not delay your child’s checkups and vaccines. Read more by going to "Vaccines".
It is essential for you to continue your child’s regular well visits to the pediatrician. These appointments (which may be monthly, quarterly or yearly based on your child’s age) gives the doctor an opportunity to check your child’s growth, hearing, eyesight, physical and emotional development and any other concerns you or your child may have.
Just as importantly, these visits also keep your child up to date on all of their vaccines. After all, it’s not just babies who need immunizations to protect them from potentially serious viruses. And, with cold and flu season – in addition to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic – staying on track with vaccines is one of the best ways to keep your child’s immune system in fighting condition.
Find out what the important vaccinations are for children and how you can use a well-child exam to stay current with all of their healthcare screenings, tests and shots.
If you are looking for a doctor in a community near in West Hills, a West Hills Doctor, or a doctor "near me" - Dr. James A. Weidman and Dr. Lianne E. Beerman are here to help you.
