December 25, 2021:
The newest Covid-19 variant is extraordinarily contagious, but does not appear to be as severe as prior strains. If you are exposed, you need to quarantine for 7 days from exposure. if you or your family member tests positive, you must isolate for 7 days. In both situations, you must stay home and limit exposure to other people.
The good news is that the majority of my patients have mild or no symptoms. And, if your child does have mild symptoms, you care for them as you would a fever or a cold.
There is no rush to have an exposed child, or a child with mild fever or cold symptoms, tested until the 4th or 5th day from exposure or symptoms. I am available during office hours for Telehealth visits which can be scheduled by calling my office at 818-713-9377 (during office hours).

WELL VISITS FOR KIDS MATTER MORE THAN EVER:
Regular well visits are essential to keeping your kids' immune system in fighting condition. With the summer season on our doorstep, keeping up with your child’s well visits are more important than ever. Do not delay your child’s checkups and vaccines. Read more by going to "Vaccines".
It is essential for you to continue your child’s regular well visits to the pediatrician. These appointments (which may be monthly, quarterly or yearly based on your child’s age) gives the doctor an opportunity to check your child’s growth, hearing, eyesight, physical and emotional development and any other concerns you or your child may have.
Just as importantly, these visits also keep your child up to date on all of their vaccines. After all, it’s not just babies who need immunizations to protect them from potentially serious viruses. And, with cold and flu season – in addition to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic – staying on track with vaccines is one of the best ways to keep your child’s immune system in fighting condition.
Find out what the important vaccinations are for children and how you can use a well-child exam to stay current with all of their healthcare screenings, tests and shots.
